In this forum, Liz Easton demonstrates how AI can take on some of the most time-consuming work in EAL/D teaching — and what to watch out for.

You’ll see live demonstrations of using AI to:
🔍 Analyse a text’s language demands — grammar, vocabulary and register
📄 Generate model texts at appropriate levels for EAL/D learners
📝 Create tiered vocabulary activities
🎧 Design listening and reading assessment tasks.

This forum is suitable for teachers of students at all levels and all ages.

Liz Easton President, ATESOL NT  |  Senior Teacher, Yirrkala Bilingual SchoolSince 2004, Liz has worked as an EAL/D teacher in Darwin and remote Indigenous community schools in the NT. She has been the East Arnhem EAL/D Coach, taught migrants and refugees in Darwin Intensive English Units, and developed EAL/D courses at the NT School of Distance Education. She is now a senior teacher at Yirrkala Bilingual School and ATESOL NT President
