Have you ever wondered how to help your English language learners understand the way English works according to its grammar, but wanted to make this structure come alive for your students? Libby is a passionate literacy educator and will present a functional perspective on the grammatical structure of English, demonstrating these components in authentic literature and strategies to support students from Kindergarten to Year 12.

1:00pm: Registration opens
1:15pm: Session 1 – Welcome, Research base of strategies, Components of the clause, Exploring clause parts in texts
2:45pm: Break (Refreshments available)
3:00pm: Session 2 – Identifying the noun group, Examples of classroom use and practice, Questions
This is accredited for 3 hours of professional learning with TQI using the following Australian Professional Standards for Teachers:

Professional Knowledge: 1.2, 1.3, 2.1, 2.5
Professional Practice: 3.1, 3.2
Professional Engagement: 6.3
